MESSAGE FROM SONDRA YOUNG
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As I prepare to step down as the President of the Denver NAACP after nine fulfilling and impactful years, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for each of you who have been part of this incredible journey. Together, we have championed the causes that matter most to our community, advocating for justice and equality through dedication and collaboration.
Over the years, we have successfully supported legislation that uplifts our society, engaged in community projects that empower individuals, and addressed critical issues such as environmental justice, homelessness, voter rights, education, health disparities, legal redress, and so much more.
Watching the next generation grow, learn, and flourish to becomes the leaders of tomorrow through our summer camps and high school/college mentorship programs has been one of the greatest joys of my leadership
As I move on to new endeavors, I carry with me the memories of our shared accomplishments and the hope that our efforts will inspire ongoing activism and unity. While I may be stepping aside from my role, my passion for the mission of the NAACP remains unwavering. I have full confidence in the leadership of our new President-elect, Tony Henderson. I look forward to supporting him and all of you as we continue this vital work together.
Thank you for trusting me with the honor of leading this remarkable organization. Your support, engagement, and belief in our mission have been instrumental in our successes. Together, we have laid a foundation that will continue to uplift our community long after my departure.
I am excited about what the future holds for the Denver NAACP, and I will always carry the spirit of our shared mission in my heart.
With profound appreciation for your camaraderie and dedication,
In solidarity,
Immediate Passed President
Sondra Young
